Creationism vs. Science

I got chills watching this video and immediately had to share it.

I don't understand why people require a magical explanation when the secular world, and our knowledge of it thus far, is so awe inspiring on it's own.

Just Draw

Looking askance at my Wacom for a few hours like it was going to bite me I finally decided to open Painter and just dive in. Why do I need to work up the guts every time I want to get started? Just draw, motherfucker!

I'm working on another painting but I cranked this out while taking a break from it. It's a side orthogonal like you would use for a modeling sheet in animation or 3d-modeling. I had fun playing with the shapes of the torso and the neck and head.

My next goal is to get away from being so married to this look and toss out a couple other stylistic choices.

A New Art Project!

I'm posting this mostly so you, my faithful readers, can keep me honest in my intentions.

One of the gifts I was looking for during the holidays for my daughters was a science fiction or fantasy early reader book. Something with dragons or robots, two things they both enjoy. I came up empty, just the typical puppies, dinosaurs, and farm animals.

I mentioned this to my girlfriend and she begged the obvious question, "Why don't YOU make one for them?" Insert facepalm.

I've picked up my electronic pen for the first time in what seems like forever and whipped this out in about a half hour. I need more of these half hours to refine this and then I do believe I'll try modeling it in 3D.

If I go longer than a week without posting a new image kick my ass, please.

You, too, can be an SP!

Has it really been more than a month since I last updated? Time flies when you're celebrating the holidays and unmotivated.

Something significant brings me back to the keyboard today. A few of you may have seen the youtube clip that was leaked of Tom Cruise at his nuttiest, talking about OT's and SP's and acting like a pod person. Scientology did as scientology does and pulled the clip and threatened legal action to anyone hosting it, just like they do with anything negative posted on the internet about them ever.

Queue the group Anonymous, a loose coalition of individuals from various -chan forums that usually help come up with the next internet meme and occasionally hack groups or individuals. In the past they've picked targets that have either made them angry or just seemed fun to harass. They decided they'd had enough of the coverups, threatening letters, "Fair Game" practices, and shabby treatment of it's own members this dangerous cult had taken part of in the past.

So they released a declaration of war video that looks like something from a movie:

Since then they've performed DDOS attacks on numerous CoS sites, uploaded many CD's worth of scientology literature that adherents normally have to pay a fortune for, as well as posting the full 45 minutes of the Tom Cruise video that started it all.

It seems like this is starting to get bigger than just Anonymous, or maybe it's what they had in mind all along. You don't have to visit this or that forum, be a part of this or that IRC channel to be a part of Anonymous. You just have to believe in the cause.

Who knew, given the right spark, the general internet could come together and try to stop a dangerous cult that uses it's lawyers like attack dogs against anyone that tries to tell the truth about them.

Keep the lulz coming, Anonymous.
